Columbus Day – The New World
Share
Columbus Day is a U.S. holiday that commemorates the landing of Christopher Columbus in the Americas in 1492, and Columbus Day 2022 occurs on Monday, October 10. It was unofficially celebrated in several cities and states as early as the 18th century but did not become a federal holiday until 1937. He was Italian yet sailed for Spain to America.
Today, we honor Christopher Columbus’ first voyage to the Americas in 1492. Today it is also known as Indigenous People’s Day. Notably one of the most important discoveries ever. For we wouldn’t be here today if not. Whether you’re open for business today, or you took the liberty of enjoying Columbus’ big day doing something else that you love, take the time to try something new today. The main reason Columbus wanted to travel was to find gold.
The big precious metal that Columbus found was Gold. The way it was found (minded) causes some conflict between history and today’s standards of humanity, but gold is still found the same way. Gold is one of the most precious metals today in the world.
